The day my hobby started.... Williamsport Maryland

Back in August of 2016, my family was heading to Hagerstown, Maryland taking the relaxing Rt. 11 North road.  We had decided that we would stop along the way at any stop that one of us found interesting.  We had stopped at the C & O canal for my son and hubby was holding out for a flea market.  While going through the little town of Williamsport, Maryland I decided I wanted to check out the small but interesting looking library.

But first let me tell you about why I decided to start this blog.

I love our local library in the Shenandoah Valley.  We are spoiled with not only a huge selection but also with architecture so beautiful you won't want to leave.  Although I wasn't taken to the library as a child (except for a school field trip) I took my son every week through out his toddler and preschool years.  We also did the summer time reading & programs up until he said he was "too old for that stuff." Sigh.  I myself still love going to the library and I go as often as I can.  I rarely check out anything anymore because I'm such a slow reader but I just like going there to relax, wander the shelves and read (even for just a short while) There is something about being surrounded by books with so many possibilities.  It's just a wonderful feeling.

So, I decided to share that with you.  I love libraries not only for the books but also for the buildings, people and communities they serve.  Here I'll share what I find.  Who knows? You may come upon one of these little gems yourself one day!  Enjoy!

It looked more like a house from the outside than a library.  I only took two pictures this time.  It was small, very small in fact but it seemed to serve the community well.

It was extremely hot this day and I noticed the A/C seemed to have a hard time keeping up with the hot temperatures outside.  This is the children's room where they ran a fan in the corner.

This is the first library I "checked out"-- :)  Please excuse my stupid puns.

I hope to become better at describing the libraries and giving a short discussion on books available and overall feeling.  However I hope to focus mainly on and get better at featuring the libraries in photographs.  I am not a writer by any means, but I hope that I can highlight these very important component of our communities.

Thanks for stopping by.....
